Some of my favorite screenprints come from Eleanor Grosch of Pushmepullyou. Animals are a constant subject in her work, which I love, since I have a similar, weird obsession with creatures. I own two of her prints and they are wonderful. I love her utilization of simplicity and shapes (it reminds me a lot of Charley Harper). To buy a print, visit her Merchline shop. And on another note: I'm taking a blog break, so there won't be any updates until the new year. Have a great holiday and see you all in January!

chroma lab

Chroma Lab is a two-person team of Alicia Cornwell and Tony Bevilacqua who take neglected but promising pieces of furniture and transform them into something great again by repairing and repainting the old with colorful new paint jobs and quality finishes. I am in love with this deep sea dresser pictured above. And in addition to their furniture, Chroma Lab also fabricates unique clocks and durable floor cloths. Each agenda is 122 pages and includes 54 weeks and 13 months that are undated so you can start anytime. Buy one at Vikki's Etsy shop or at Uppercase Gallery.

print gocco

The Print Gocco is a compact, self-contained screenprinting device. And for months now, I have been debating whether to buy one or not. The prices for them have been going up since the machines are no longer being made, so I caved. I finally got one. I probably should have done it sooner so I could have saved some money, but I am still excited about this. I got the smallest model, the PG-5, and am going to start printing with it soon. apt. 202

I visited this boutique on September 1st and again on September 10th (their one-year anniversary) and loved it both times I went. Apt. 202 is the kind of place where you wish you could own almost everything. Located in Salt Lake's 9th & 9th district, the boutique carries higher-end clothing and accessories from brands like Rebecca Taylor, BCBG, and Orla Kiely (and some lines that are lesser-known, but still great, like Bizz: see the jacket pictured). Though items can be on the pricey side, near the front of the store, there are walls lined with scarves, jewelry, and stationery that's more affordable. Selection throughout the store changes frequently. I can already tell this place is becoming a favorite.

over & over

Recently, I bought the book Over & Over: A Catalog of Hand-Drawn Patterns and it's great. The book was compiled by Mike Perry (who also did last year's Hand Job: A Catalog of Type) and features the work of fifty designers who create patterns by hand and use them in innovative ways. The entire book contains over 250 patterns; there's something in there for everyone. Buy it here.

I got an invitation to lookbook.nu over the weekend and I am intrigued. The concept, described as an international social experiment in style, allows users to upload images of their day-to-day style and vote on submitted looks. It's kind of fun to just browse the site and get inspired by what other people are wearing.
