monte-silo house

A cool living space found in Woodland, Utah. Completed in 2006, this 1,800 square foot home sits next to the Provo River and accommodates a single man and his weekend guests. The circular house is made from two linked corrugated metal grain silos arranged to allow visual access to the river, and the southern exposure to ensure passive solar heat gain during the winter. It also includes a bed in a box concept where each box is equipped with stereo sound and a flat screen monitor. Designed by Gigaplex Architects.

humlegarden apartment

gillian blease

UK freelance illustrator Gillian Blease often uses food as subject matter. I think the subject mixed with her bold, colorful style is perfect. Her illustrations can be found on coasters and mats at Jenny Duff.

bookbook

This is currently being posted all over the blogs, but it's so great that I had to post about it myself too. The BookBook is a one-of-a-kind, hardback leather case designed exclusively for MacBook and MacBook Pro. It provides solid protection, disguises your MacBook for security, and is available in classic black or vibrant red for $79.99. Each case is hand-distressed so no two are exactly alike. It makes me wish I had a MacBook so I could get one of these.

neon sign boneyard

I only just recently found out about The Neon Sign Boneyard in Las Vegas, but wish I had known about it sooner because I want to go there so bad, but unfortunately, it's now being renovated and won't be open again until later this summer. The boneyard is part of The Neon Museum and is three acres full of vintage signs from Las Vegas' past. It looks incredible.

printable bookmarks

Eleanor of e.m.papers contacted me about some of her new products and my favorite were the happiness printable bookmarks. High on impact and low on price (just $3.50), these bookmarks feature ten factors recent science has identified that lead to feeling more happy and satisfied with life. Her site contains a variety of printable paper goods to choose from and it's all really affordable. Go take a look!

vitesse

Hoefler & Frere-Jones have come out with a new font family, Vitesse, which is a slab serif for the 21st century. I like the little type specimens they come up with for the release of each typeface. You really get a sense of the range and scope of the face.

seesaw + 2010 calendar

When I was looking at calendars for the new year, I was really considering this one by SeeSaw Designs. I love the use of bold color with geometric and organic shapes. I've seen it in person and it looks just as great in real life, if not better. It's letterpress printed on Crane Lettra and available here for $28.

spinners by romi ceramics

These spinners by Romi Ceramics are pretty. I love the color palette here. They were made to blend well in their environments and can be used as votives, herb planters, small vases, or as a multipurpose tabletop accessory.
